High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Suppression Systems

Carbon dioxide is a reliable, versatile and efficient fire fighting agent. It has provided decades of successful operation. It is a dry, inert, non-corrosive gas that will not damage equipment or materials or contaminate liquids or food. It does not leave any residue to clean-up, and as a result, business down-time is held to a minimum. In addition, carbon dioxide is a non-conductor of electricity, and can even be used without danger in spaces housing high voltage electrical equipment. Low Pressure CO2 Systems

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless, and chemically inert gas that is both readily available and electrically non-conductive. It extinguishes fire primarily by lowering the level of oxygen that supports combustion in a protected area. This mechanism of fire suppression makes CO2 suppression systems highly effective, requiring minimal clean-up, but should be used in normally unoccupied hazard locations or otherwise avoided by personnel when discharged.

Overview

• LPCO2 system have several advantages over HPCO2 systems.
• Do not require hydrostatic testing.-Continuous monitoring of the liquid level and tank pressure; the liquid level gauge provides standard alarm outputs or an optional 4
• 20mA output (HPCO2 cylinders must be removed from service semi-annually to be weighed)
• Require 40% less floor space and less floor loading than HPCO2 systems.
• Multi-shot capabilities without any switch over to a reserve
• Hazards may be added to an existing LPCO2 system at anytime.
• LPCO2 Storage Units can be refilled while remaining in service; HPCO2 cylinders must be uninstalled, sent out to a refill location, and replaced.

Foam Suppression Systems

Foam suppression systems combine specially designed foam concentrate with precise amounts of water and air to create an expanding blanket of foam that smothers a fire. Electrical Cabinet & CNC Machine Fire Protection

The Fike Small Space Suppression System uses a flexible heat-reactive tube which is strategically routed through small applications. The tube is pressurized with nitrogen to activate the connected cylinder of 3M™ Novec™ Fire Protection Fluid to quickly and reliably suppress the fire.

1. A fire melts a hole in the tubing, which is pressurized with nitrogen.

 2. Upon release of nitrogen pressure, the valve on the agent container opens.

 3. In the direct configuration (electrical cabinets), 3M™ Novec™ Fire Protection Fluid is released directly from the hole in the tubing and directly onto the fire. In the indirect configuration, the agent is released from UL-listed nozzles and into the protected space.
