Explosion/ Pressure Relief Vents

ERL Explosion Relief Vents

Explovent is the only field-testable system–With other systems, you won't know if they work until there's an explosion.

This louver system is designed to manage both everyday exhaust and intake ventilation needs. It features an extremely lightweight, low inertia design that is ideal for explosion or pressure venting. The system uses a permanent magnetic latch that is calibrated to release within a specific range, ensuring safety and reliability. It can be operated manually as a damper or controlled remotely using electric or pneumatic actuators, offering flexibility and convenience.

Advantages

• Permanent magnetic latch releases at specified range
• Field testable and resettable
• Handles everyday exhaust and relieves pressure when required
• Lightweight, low inertia design
• Quick venting mitigates dangerous overpressures
• Manually or remotely operable

Applications

• Where exterior interference is present that would block the operation of standard explosion vents
• Facilities with potentially explosive atmospheres that also need everyday intake and exhaust ventilation
• Facilities handling hazardous materials that require adequate safeguards against explosions

ERP-TB Explosion Relief Vents

This explosion relief panel features a thermally broken frame ranging in R-values from 9-20 that prevent thermal and air leakage. The system ships fully assembled and can be shop calibrated to meet specified release performance.

Advantages

• Superior performance prevents thermal and air leakage
• Reduces heating and cooling costs
• Vapor barrier seals reduce condensation
• R-values range from 9-20
• FM approved with approved fasteners
• Ships fully assembled and calibrated to specified release
performance
• Lightweight, low inertia design
• Restraint tether prevents panel from becoming a
projectile

Applications

• Facilities handling hazardous materials that require adequate safeguards against explosions
• Where thermal performance is a key factor

XRV-IC Explosion Relief Vents

This roof mounted explosion relief vent is ideal for buildings that do not have sufficient wall venting areas, or where the use of wall vents is prohibited. For large venting area requirements, tandem and cluster units are available. The aluminum insulated lid provides an R-value of 9-16 to reduce heat loss and energy costs

Untitled (1080 x 1080 px) (59)

Advantages

• Releases within 12-18 milliseconds of detecting a pressure shock
• Restraint tether prevents the unit from becoming a dangerous projectile
• Tandem and cluster units available for large venting area requirements
• Includes Factory Mutual approved explosion relief fasteners
• Aluminum insulated cover reduces heat loss and energy costs

Applications

• Facilities handling hazardous materials that require adequate safeguards against explosions
• When the use of wall vents is prohibited due to insufficient wall area or they would be too close to other structures.
• Internal rooms

XRV-TP Explosion Relief Vents

This roof mounted explosion relief vent features a translucent fiberglass panel that serves as an effective fire vent as well as an energy saving skylight. The system is ideal for buildings that do not have sufficient wall venting areas, or where the use of wall vents is prohibited.

Advantages

• Translucent fiberglass roof allows natural light to filter through while protecting against damaging UV rays
• Releases within 12-18 milliseconds of detecting pressure shock
• Restraint tether prevents the unit from becoming a dangerous projectile
• Includes Factory Mutual approved explosion relief fasteners
• Subject to energy savings that pay for the unit in as little as three years

Applications

• Facilities handling hazardous materials that require adequate safeguards against explosions
• When the use of wall vents is prohibited due to insufficient wall area or they would be too close to other structures.
• When natural lighting is desired
• Internal rooms
