The PYR hanging bar magnet extends the working power of your current equipment to clean debris from large flat surfaces.
The PYR is a versatile magnetic bar good for many applications where the terrain is flat. The PYR can be hung from almost any vehicle or piece of equipment and the flat proof bump wheels on each end make sure the magnet doesn’t hit the ground. The PYR can be receiver hitch mounted on the front (as shown in picture above) or rear receiver hitch mounted (receiver hitch not supplied).
The PYR comes with 4 stabilizing chains and 8 quick clips to mount the PYR.
Bluestreak offers 2 different sizes (or strengths) of the PYR, the 3”x3” housing size and the stronger 4.5”x4.5” housing size, to allow even higher hanging heights if necessary and better performance.

Both sizes of the PYR magnet have a strong magnetic field with a maximum lifting height for the 3”x3” model of 6” inches using a 2.5” inch nail, and a maximum lifting height for the 4.5”x4.5” model of 9 ¼” inches. (We use a 2 ½” nail to measure maximum lifting heights of all of our sweepers because it is a standard well know item familiar to customers. Keep in mind the maximum lifting heights will vary depending upon the shape and ferrous content of the items you are trying to pickup)
The standard method of cleaning off the PYR is by wiping debris off with either a rag or a glove. However, thanks to the optional Quick Clean Off Sleeve accessory shown below its possible to clean the PYR off quickly and easily while the magnet is still in its hanging position underneath a piece of equipment.

The PYR is available in 2 different magnet strengths and 6 different sweeping widths from 3 to 8 feet !
The PYR comes in 6 different sweeping widths (magnet bar lengths) of 38”, 50”, 62”, 74”, 86” and 98” to accommodate many different vehicle sizes and uses. The PYR can be front, mid or rear mounted on a variety of vehicles as long as enough clearance and space is present. We obviously recommend front mounting a magnet sweeper when at all possible so that you don’t run over the debris with your vehicle before picking it up.
The PYR also comes in 2 different magnet strengths:
3”x3” housing size – maximum pickup height 6” inches (using a 2 ½” nail)
4.5”x4.5” housing size – maximum pickup height 9 ¼” inches (using a 2 ½” nail)

As a hanging magnet, the PYR has no specific requirements of the vehicle to ensure FIT. You should however, take a look at the CAD files showing overall dimensions of width and height to ensure the PYR will work with your intended vehicle and the anticipated mounting position.
The PYR comes standard with 4 mounting chains and 8 quick clips, however to accommodate mounting of the PYR to a vehicle, especially in the case of front or rear hitch mounting, it may be necessary for the purchaser to buy one of the available hanging bracket accessories. As an alternative, the purchaser can themselves design and build a suspension frame with mounting points specific to those available on the vehicle being used as well as the suggested mounting points on the PYR.

Powerful Pickup Performance
The PYR utilizes permanently charged C8 Ceramic Magnets to provide a strong magnetic field with a maximum lifting height of 6” inches for the 3”x3” housing size, and a maximum lifting height of 9 ¼” inches for the 4.5”x4.5” housing size (using a two and a half inch nail).
The PYR will pick up a 2 ½” nail when the bottom of the magnet is 6” inches or 9 ¼” off the ground providing plenty of pickup power performance when operating on a moving vehicle.

Recommended Sweeping Heights
PYR 3”x3”
Sweeping height is adjustable on the PYR 3”x3” model from a minimum of 1.75” inches with the bump wheels touching the ground to a maximum of 3” inches. We recommend a 2.25” inch sweeping height with the bump wheels ½” off the ground for optimal performance.
PYR 4.5”x4.5”
Sweeping height is adjustable on the PYR 4.5”x4.5” model from a minimum of 1.875” inches with the bump wheels touching the ground to a maximum of 5” inches. We recommend a 2.375” inch sweeping height with the bump wheels ½” off the ground for optimal performance.

Protective Flat proof bump wheels
Each model of the PYR has protective bump wheels to keep the magnet from hitting the ground.
The PYR 3”x3” models have 7″ diamond tread lawnmower wheels with steel hubs and 1/2 inch ball bearings.
The PYR 4.5”x4.5” models have 5″ Dynatread Thermoplastic Rubber Wheels with Polypropylene Hubs and 5/8 inch ball bearings rated at 300 lbs capacity each.

Add a Quick Clean Off Sleeve.
Optional extruded PVC Quick Clean Off Sleeve for removing debris from the sweeper. Clean the PYR off while it is still in a hanging position underneath of your equipment, something that is not possible with a kick down plate design. If the debris is removed by using a kick down or toe plate then as soon as the plate is put back in its original position, the magnet would pick up all the debris again. Therefore a kick down plate never works for magnet clean off when the magnet is hanging, it only works if used with a forklift, where the forklift can pick the magnet up away from the ground. This Quick Clean Off Sleeve accessory is available for both models and all widths of the PYR.
Add Optional hanging bracket accessories to make mounting easy
If you have a 2” inch receiver on either the front or rear of your vehicle you can mount a PYR using Hanging Bracket A or B (check the Hanging Bracket Selection Chart and FIT Guidelines to determine which based on the size of PYR you choose), and the 2” inch Receiver Mount Bracket. These accessories are available for purchase and will be recommended accessories when you checkout.
If you have a flat steel bumper as on many commercial trucks as shown in the picture you can mount a PYR using Hanging Bracket A or B (check the Hanging Bracket Selection Chart and FIT Guidelines to determine which based on the size of PYR you choose), and Bumper Mount Bracket A.
If you have a 2.5” inch receiver on either the front or rear of your vehicle you can mount a PYR using Hanging Bracket A or B, the 2” inch Receiver Mount Bracket and the 2.5” to 2” inch Steel Receiver Adaptor Sleeve accessory.
