Dock Seals & Dock Shelters

 Overview 

Dock Seals and Shelters improve energy conservation, help preserve internal temperatures and protect products from outside contaminants. If you think about it, each loading dock door opening represents a giant hole in the wall of your facility. Strung together, these dock openings present an enormous opportunity for bad things to enter your facility - think bugs, dust, wind, rain and rodents - and good things, like expensive heating and cooling energy, to escape. Dock applications, site criteria and facility operations vary and may require one feature more than the others. Many configurations are available from basic types of compression dock seals, standard dock shelters, inflatable seals to hybrid dock seal/shelter/inflatable designs. Dock seals provide a tight compression seal around the trailer top and sides for the highest sealing efficiency. Loading dock shelters give full, unobstructed access to loads on trailers.

 Overview 

Designed to suit door openings up to 8' W x 8' H (2,438 mm x 2,438 mm) to 9' W x 9' H (2,743 mm x 2,743 mm), the Fixed Head Pad Dock Seal provides airtight protection when servicing trailers of consistent height.

When in use, the fixed head pad dock seal enables an energy-efficient seal that keeps facilities free of airborne contaminants, pests, and inclement weather conditions.

Rugged ArmorPleat™ protection – Available on full length of side pads, ArmorPleats provide additional abrasion protection to extend the life of the dock seal. Available in high-strength, friction-resistant Durathon® fabric.

• Head Pad Model: Traditional head pad – Foam compression head pad seals directly against trailer. Corner wear pleats provide added reinforcement.
• Head Curtain Model: Adjustable head curtain – Pull-rope activation allows flexibility to manually adjust seal to varying trailer heights to ensure most effective coverage. Corner wear pleats provide added reinforcement.
• Available Firefighter® header protection* – Optional Firefighter system prevents head pad from burning due to the heat buildup of compressed trailer marker lights.

 Overview 

Dock shelters are enclosures that provide a wiper seal against the trailer top and sides for high sealing efficiency. They are constructed of industrial fabric curtains fitted with fiberglass stays to apply pressure.

We can offer a wide variety of loading dock shelters to fit your loading dock design objectives and budget. The seal at the top is created with a curtain designed to reach down to the trailer. This header curtain may be weighted or simply constructed of fabric, and can be self-adjusting or require pull-rope adjustment, depending on the model. The side curtains may or may not be equipped with features to seal around trailer door hinge gaps.

 Product Highlights 

• Interchangeable J-hooks are low profile and provide a top to bottom seal without limiting access to the trailer interior, eliminating the hinge gap on barn style trailer doors.
• Durable side frames easily absorb impact from a misaligned trailer preventing damage to the frame and are built to last.
• Top and side curtains are made from high-tear vinyl, and include fiberglass supports which complete the seal and maintain continual pressure against the trailer at the loading dock.
