 Key Safety Features 

1. Fall Prevention and Protection:

   • The Dok-Guardian system helps prevent fork trucks, pallet jacks, and pedestrians from accidentally falling off the loading dock, mitigating the risk of serious and potentially fatal injuries.
   • It features a robust 58" high PVC-coated fiberglass mesh curtain with heavy-duty restraint straps. In heavy-duty applications, it can withstand impacts of up to 30,000 lbs, while in light-duty applications, it supports up to 5,500 lbs, ensuring reliable protection against accidental impacts.
     
     

2. Compliance with Safety Standards:

   • The system meets OSHA's 1910.29 (Walking Working Surfaces) guardrail requirements, providing a compliant solution for enhancing workplace safety.
   • Bright red and yellow colors of the curtain and straps serve as highly visible warning signs, alerting personnel and vehicle operators to the presence of the safety barrier.
     
     

3. Operational and Ergonomic Design:

   • A secondary ergonomic assist handle aids in the secure handling and retraction of the safety curtain, ensuring ease of use and minimizing strain on operators.
   • Manual operation allows the curtain to span openings up to 12'5" wide in heavy-duty applications and up to 10'5" wide in light-duty applications, providing flexibility to accommodate various loading dock configurations.
     
     

4. Integration and Interlock System:

   • The Dok-Guardian system integrates seamlessly with the Dok-Commander interlock system to ensure continuous loading dock safety.
   • The Dok-Lok control box indicates the status of the safety curtain with a red light when securely locked across the opening. Pressing the lock button turns the light green, signaling safe conditions for loading and unloading trailers.
     
     

5. Additional Safety Features:

   • Anchored by 62" tall yellow safety Warden guards on either side, providing robust protection and door track safeguarding during loading and unloading operations.
   • The system retracts neatly into one of the Wardens when not in use, maintaining clear access for trailers and optimizing space efficiency at the loading dock.
